Mindset
- Imagine who you could be, and then aim single-mindedly at that.
- Act so that you can tell the truth about how you act.
- Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you need to know. Listen to them hard enough so that they will share it with you.
- Do not allow yourself to become arrogant or resentful.
- Maintain your connections with people.
- Treat yourself as if you were someone that you are responsible for helping.
- Make friends with people who want the best for you.
- Stand up straight with your shoulders back.
- What you focus on, grows.
- Expect nothing. Welcome everything.
- Dress like the person you want to be.
- Be grateful in spite of your suffering.
- Pay attention.
- As the Bushido (or samurai) Code teaches, to keep your mind in peace, you only need to be aware of the certainity of death at every time.
- Your mind does so much for you. Take care of it. Wash it, clean in, purge it of all damaging and hurtful thoughts. Feed it nutritious food, water its soil, give your mind sunlight, love, attention and care. The more you respect your mind, the more it will serve you to it's highest degree and potential. Treat your mind with honor and respect.
- Friendship is a gift, not a possession.
- Quit taking it personally.
- Tell the truth.
- Make at least one thing better every single place you go.
- Don't avoid something frightening if it stands in your way.
- Do not do things that you hate.
- Be careful who you share good news with.
- Be careful who you share bad news with.
- Try to make one room in your house as beautiful as possible.
- Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.
- Work as hard as you possibly can on at least one thing and see what happens.
- If old memories still make you cry, write them down carefully and completely.
- Do not carelessly denigrate social institutions or artistic achievement.
- Ask someone to do you a small favour, so that he or she can ask you to do one in the future.
- Do not try to rescue someone who does not want to be rescued, and be very careful about rescuing someone who does.
- Nothing well done is insignificant.
- Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world.
- Don't do unnecessarily dangerous things.
- Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street.
- Do not bother children when they are skateboarding.
- Don't let bullies get away with it.
- Write a letter to the government if you see something that needs fixing—and propose a solution.
- Remember that what you do not yet know is more important than what you already know.
- Whenever your spouse says something the first thing you should hear is "I love you & want to spend my life with you".
- Mostly nothing is that serious as it seems in the first moment.
- Stop clinging and embrace change as a constant.
- Try and give people the benefit of the doubt if they snap at you. Might be something going on you don't know about.
- Realizing that you treasure experiences over possessions makes life better.
- Speak the language of the person you seek to become. Most people speak in past references and present acknowledgments. But those who live with profound purpose speak in the future tense as if they're pulling themselves toward the person they seek to become. You'll rapidly discover that your words become your actions and your actions manifest into your legacy. Once you discover who you want to become, speak with the fervor of that future self and gradually you'll live your way into the life you want most.
Routines
- Start your day with a mug of warm water and half a lemon juice: https://goo.gl/sKuOy
- Practice silence daily.
- Meditate: it makes everything fall into place. Being happy makes life so much better and easier!
- Do something relaxing before going to bed. No electronics.
- Before you go to bed, write down only 3 things that you want to do the following day. This is how to prioritize.
Tricks
- When in doubt, take a deep breath.
- Define what's necessary; say no to the rest.
- Smiling seems to help with most things :-)
- Life is so much easier when you make a decision within 5 minutes. Longer than that and you get bogged down & never decide.
People
- La asertividad consiste en conseguir un punto de equilibrio entre la agresividad y la pasividad ante los demás. La auténtica prueba del algodón sería ser capaz de decir NO sin sentirte mal ni hacer sentirse mal a los demás.
Dinero
- Consejos de Warren Buffet:
- Reinvertir los beneficios;
- Predisposición a ser diferente;
- Ser persistente;
- Saber cuándo hay que retirarse;
- Evaluar el riesgo;
- Limitar el dinero que pedimos prestado;
- Invierte siempre pensando en el largo plazo, y no en las variaciones diarias de la bolsa.
